Today's finds

Ok, here I am starting on this adventure...
I did a little bit last year at Christmastime, but nothing like I am hoping this year can become.
I need to show hubby I CAN do this instead of working OUTSIDE the home... I need to do it for ME and for my KIDS.

There are so many things that just get dropped off and people don't realize the value of them. Someone is going to make the money off them so it might as well be me, RIGHT?

So I am starting to do my homework and learn about these items, their name brands, maker marks, etc. and I basically want to use this blog as a tool to help me investigate, learn about and remember (so I know something when I see it) the things I need to be seeking in my trips to the thrift stores, garage sales, etc.

Here is the list I started investigating tonight... beginning with Christmas ornaments because I did really well with a bunch of those last year... and there are always tons at the thrift store and you never know which ones are of worth and which ones are trash.

WATERFORD CRYSTAL Christmas tree ornaments from the 80's and 90's go for in excess of $200 EACH!

Swarovski Christmas Ornaments from 1990's go for over $200.

Gorling Sterling Silver Elf ornaments go for over $170.

Other notable items that go for GOOD money....

Steiff Bears

Lalique ornaments

Antique German and Russian ornaments

And..... I thought this looked interesting.... a Towle Sterling Silver ornament from 1971 with a dove on one side and a pear tree of partridges on the other.... here is the "maker marking":

Basically if you find a Gorham, Swarovski or Waterford Crystal ornament, it'll be worth SOMETHING.
I really have to learn to keep my eyes peeled.
I'm off to bed now....
more investigating and discovering tomorrow I hope!
